Beatrice Bresolin / Valeria Sturba – “Mille”
Beatrice Bresolin: author, director, performer
Valeria Sturba: composition, performer
MILLE is a musical and dance performance by Beatrice Bresolin and Valeria Sturba. Beatrice is a dancer and choreographer who trained between Italy and Berlin. Her creations inhabit the stage, but also urban, museum, natural and digital contexts, entering into dialogue with the environment, architecture, works of art and people. Valeria is a multi-instrumentalist, singer and composer. A violin graduate, she plays theremin, keyboards, synths, electronic effects, loopers and sound toys. Her artistic career encompasses various genres – songwriting, rock, jazz, free improvisation, electronics, minimalism – and different experiences – soundtracking of silent films, recording of original soundtracks, accompanying theatre performances and readings. MILLE brings to the stage two female bodies whose relationship explores the (non-)mind-body dichotomy, splitting, mirroring. At the same time, the electronic vibrations of the violins, theremin and objects played live expand in the bodies, endowing them with vitality and bringing them back to express an otherwise hidden essence.
