Violinist and performer Anaïs Drago, winner of the Top Jazz 2021 award as best new talent, leads the trio ‘Relevé’ composed of clarinettist Federico Calcagno and drummer and percussionist Max Trabucco. The project was born in 2023 as an original production of the WeStart centre in Novara. Strings, winds and percussion: the union of three instruments belonging to different families gives life to unusual sounds and colours, just as the influences characterising the musical personalities of the three give the project a wide-ranging musical variety. From jazz to contemporary classical, from improvisation to experimentation with techniques and timbres to folklore, in a totally original repertoire specially composed by Drago for the trio. The music takes on a dimension that is not only sonorous but also plastic, immediately evoking movement, the inescapable impulse of our body in space.
